Irene Neuwirth

The realm of fine jewelry is a much less fussy place thanks to Irene Neuwirth and the many like-minded women who collect her work. Growing up in Southern California, the daughter of a painter fell in love with art and color early on. She began making jewelry after college, learned wax carving and metalsmithing, and in 2003, inaugurated her label.  Her decidedly “un-precious” aesthetic favors raw cuts of precious and semiprecious stones in an ocean-y palette of greens and blues. Made by hand in Neuwirth’s Venice studio, her pieces are easy to imagine worn barefoot.
