Uninterrupted textiles allowed to speak for themselves. That is the center of a Nazzy design. Handwoven by master weavers in the distant lands of Cambodia, Japan, India, Thailand and Uzbekistan, Nazzy designs celebrate a dying art known as ikat.
Ikat coats and kaftans are composed collages of as many as seven different textiles. Designs inspired by nature utilize natural dyes and even the smallest of fabric scraps are incorporated into each piece to avoid garment waste. As machines take over more and more of the work that for centuries has been performed by humans, Nazzy pays tribute to the weavers and artisans who for generations have been working with their hands to create objects of great beauty. Some of those with whom they work with have been recognized by UNESCO as “Master Weavers”.
