The beginning of the OVERCOAT concept was "Wearing New York".

Designer Ryuhei Oomaru was walking around the streets of New York and noticed the awning material that is often used as the eaves of the storefront. Graphical prints of various typefaces also symbolize the diversity of the city. Why don't you try wearing this material that is resistant to rain and wind as a coat? The idea led to the launch of the brand.

The material is jointly developed with the world's highest quality manufacturer, reprinting what was once used for uniforms and military uniforms, applying unique post-processing, and constantly trying to update.

The method of logically pursuing design while eliminating emotional romanticism may be closer to that of an architect or mathematician rather than a designer. However, the brand hopes that the work that can be called the "solution" and has the value of being an elegant yet timeless art.
