Georg Jensen began from the art of a Danish silversmith and designer who achieved international prominence for his commercial application of modern metal design. The simple elegance of his works and their emphasis on fine craftsmanship are recognized around the world.

The Koppel crystal carafe is decorated with a flat pure silver thread. The silver thread which 'extends' the 'neck' is inspired by the African tradition of giving a girl a new ring to put around her neck each year.
